    Daytona is home to many major events, festivals, and activities, but this month’s focus is on a few of our many ongoing local events. First, head over to the Downtown Daytona Farmers’ Market. Open every Saturday until noon, you’ll find fresh, local produce, much of it organic, along with baked goods, dried fruit and nuts, garden plants, kettle corn, coffee, raw honey, jams and jellies, and local seafood. They also carry handmade jewelry, dream catchers, soaps, and candles. Don’t leave without picking up some BBQ for later. Also, check out the Daytona Flea & Farmers Market on Bellevue Avenue.

    It’s time to kick-off summer with the grand musical openers of the 2019 season of the Daytona Beach Bandshell Summer Concert Series. Beginning this month, you can catch a free concert every Friday and Saturday night at the city’s historic coquina amphitheater, and enjoy fireworks on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk and Pier after each Saturday show. To really enhance your experience, snag a VIP chair and grab a cold drink before the show. Calling all Parrotheads – the season’s inaugural show on May 24 features the Caribbean Chillers, a Florida-based Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

This year’s calendar of events will include the Bike Week blessing and free pancake breakfast, the Bike Rodeo and Bike Show, the Tropical Tattoo Chopper Time Old School Chopper Show, and the Halifax Humane Society Bike Week Ruff Ride.

  • The Art of Daytona: The Halifax Art Festival and Oscar Preece

    Join us at historic Riverfront Park on November 3-4 for Daytona’s own Halifax Art Festival. One of the country’s most prestigious art events, it’s also the second-oldest continuous art festival in the state. 2018 marks the 56th anniversary of the festival, which attracts over 40,000 art enthusiasts and over 250 artists and craft artisans annually. Originated and presented by the Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences, this event is also organized and fully operated by a volunteer staff and offers work in a variety of media, including printmaking, drawing, clay, acrylics, watercolor, sculpture, and more.
