Kick Off the Holiday Season with Perry’s!
The holidays have arrived—and here at Perry’s, the weather outside is anything but frightful! Read on as we take a closer look at a few fun ways to kick off the festive season during your Perry’s stay.
Enjoy family fun at One Daytona’s Sunday Snow Days
It may not be a white Christmas here in Daytona Beach—of course, that’s what many of our visitors love about making the Sunshine State their home away from home! Where else can you hang out by the beach, go swimming or “bundle up” with a light sweater on cold days?
Still, if you crave a taste of traditional winter fun, One Daytona’s Sunday Snow Days have you covered. This free, family-friendly attraction will have a real snow slide and snow play area, Polar Express train, live DJ and visits by famous holiday figures like the Grinch, Buddy the Elf and “Frozen’s” Elsa and Anna. Swing by on Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22 for all the seasonal fun, then stick around One Daytona and grab a bite or get some holiday shopping done!
Watch “The Grinch” by the water!
Another perk of spending the holidays in Daytona Beach? Being able to enjoy classic Christmas movies al fresco! Bring a beach blanket to Movies on the Halifax at The Casements in Ormond Beach. Showing next is “The Grinch” on Dec. 13, a family favorite that’s sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
Step into Florida’s festive history
This holiday season, don’t just read about Florida’s festive history—live it! Head west like the pioneers to Barberville, where “A Florida Christmas Remembered” on Dec. 14 will give visitors the chance to see how the holidays were spent on the historic pioneer settlement. Hear traditional tunes, enjoy cookies and crafts and see live demonstrations of blacksmithing, woodworking, weaving, pottery and more! Who knew such a historic holiday escape was so close to the modern thrills of Daytona Beach?
Experience a new kind of Christmas parade
Christmas parades are a staple of holiday happenings across the country—but here in Daytona Beach, ours look a little different! The Daytona Beach Boat Parade takes place on Dec. 7, and will feature beautifully adorned boats as they make their way along the Halifax River, all to the delight of spectators on the bridges and river banks.
Have holiday fun with the family on our beautiful beaches
Of course, fun abounds at the beach this season and all year long! Whether you’re attending a coastal event (like nearby Cocoa Beach’s Surfing Santas on Christmas Eve), or are simply soaking up the sun right by Perry’s, you are sure to love the sea breeze, beach views and relaxing environment! A few of our favorite ways to unwind in the sand include…
- Building sand “snowmen” for festive flair
- Searching for natural treasures like seashells (which can later be fashioned into special gifts like necklaces or photo frames)
- Enjoying a family picnic
- Doing yoga
- Taking a leisurely walk by the water
Plus, if you want to go for a swim on a chilly day, don’t fret—our indoor heated pool is ready for you to enjoy!
These are just some of the many exciting, family-friendly events to enjoy in and around Daytona Beach this holiday season! Visit DaytonaBeach.com to learn more, and check in with Perry’s to learn about additional holiday happenings around town.
Whether you’re visiting for a holiday getaway, or are planning the perfect 2020 escape, it’s always a good time to visit Perry’s. And as we head into the festive season, we wish you and your family a very happy holiday!
